TMG Press Release
August 25, 2022

Arlington, VA – TMG recently concluded a three-day digital regulation training workshop in Riyadh for seven cross-sectoral regulatory authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), along with seven of the country’s private-sector operators. Between August 22 and August 24, TMG led more than 15 hours of trainings, including interactive, web-based exercises for over 60 participants. The training was based on the ITU/World Bank Digital Regulation Handbook and Platform, covering the following topics:

  • regulatory governance and independence;
  • competition and economics;
  • access for all;
  • consumer affairs;
  • data protection and trust;
  • spectrum management; and
  • regulatory responses to evolving technologies.

TMG previously drafted the ITU/World Bank Digital Regulation Handbook and Platform chapters on regulatory governance, spectrum management, and access for all, as well as the respective eLearning Modules for these three topics plus consumer affairs. The recent training workshops and TMG’s contributions to the Digital Regulation Handbook and Platform drew on our ongoing work monitoring digital regulatory trends and providing guidance on agile regulatory framework development. TMG has assisted regulators and private-sector players across a wide range of digital issues, including OTT services and platforms, competition, data protection, online safety, spectrum, and emerging technologies.
